Kyra Minturn Sedgwick is a famous American screen and television actress. The actress is a household name across the globe, but particularly in America as she played the main role in 'The Closer. Sedgwick was fascinated by performing, art and Broadway from the time she was at the age of 12. Sedgwick was first introduced to Broadway from her mother. Sedgwick was offered her first professional role when she was 16 years old in the television show "Another world". Although she began by doing smaller-scale roles on television, it was the thought of being an actress that attracted her. In the film "Born in July 4th" where Tom Cruise also starred, Sedgwick was noticed for the first-time on the big screen. After the success of this film, Sedgwick got more roles in films such as "Singles," "Heart and Souls", 'Phenomenon' among others. When she was just 22 year old, she was married actor Kevin Bacon after working in the TV show Lemon Sky. Sedgwick made a mark in American television with her impressive performing. The Closer, which ran for seven seasons, was awarded her awards such as Emmy, Golden Globe and Emmy.
