
Through her entire life, Sara Evans only held just one ambition: to perform and write country music. Evans was quoted as saying, "God has put me in this world to be an artist." Evans born in the year 1970, made her mark in the late 90s, as many aspiring country music performers turned to contemporary pop songs. The evidence is evident in her first album released in 1997, True Lies. True Lies, though it got a positive review and received nominations from the Academy of Country Music for 1998's top new female artist however, was not able to create any lasting impression. So, when she released her second album 1999's No Place That Far, Evans made a bow to the producers who persuaded the singer to update her repertoire, and finally earned the popular acknowledgement she'd longed for since childhood.
